JOBSTEAD PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy in the office and the field.
Jobstead is a business operations service for construction companies and trades. This policy explains what information Jobstead processes, why it is needed, and the choices available to company owners, administrators, employees, and other authorized users.
Effective September 18, 2026
Information Jobstead processes
- Account and company information: names, contact details, role, company membership, profile settings, and authentication records.
- Job and business records: customers, jobs, schedules, tasks, materials, equipment, expenses, reports, messages, approvals, notes, and related activity.
- Files and media: plans, documents, receipts, photos, scans, and attachments uploaded by authorized users.
- Time and location evidence: time punches, break and job-switch events, device-reported location at a punch when available, and consented temporary location responses requested by an authorized company manager.
- Device and service information: device identifiers used for push delivery, app version, synchronization state, error details, and security logs needed to operate and protect the service.
How information is used
Jobstead uses this information to provide company operations, synchronize field work, deliver authorized notifications, preserve business records, calculate job and labor information, secure accounts, prevent duplicate or unauthorized actions, troubleshoot failures, and maintain recoverable backups.
Jobstead does not sell personal information or use precise location, job files, customer records, or employee records for advertising.
Location, camera, microphone, and notifications
Location is requested for user-initiated time punches and, only after a separate in-app disclosure and consent, temporary manager location requests while the employee is clocked in. A denied or unavailable location does not prevent a punch. Jobstead does not create a continuous route history.
Camera access is used only when a user opens a capture, scan, QR, or camera-level feature. Microphone access is used only by features that the user opens and that require audio. Notification permission is used for company and job updates selected by the user or company workflow.
Sharing and service providers
Information is visible only to authorized users under the company's roles and job access rules. Jobstead uses infrastructure and delivery providers to run the service, including database/authentication, file storage and delivery, disaster-recovery backup, hosting, and push-notification providers. These providers process information only to deliver their contracted services or meet legal obligations.
Jobstead may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
Retention and deletion
Company records are retained while the company account is active and as needed for legitimate business, security, backup, tax, payroll, audit, and legal requirements. Owners and authorized administrators can manage active storage, permanently remove eligible files, and archive supported job data. Disaster-recovery copies can remain until their limited retention period expires.
Users should contact their company owner or administrator to correct or remove company-controlled records. Account or privacy requests for Jobstead can be made through the support contact published with the Jobstead application listing.
Security and user responsibilities
Jobstead uses tenant separation, role-based access, private file links, encryption in transit, audit records, scoped offline queues, and backup controls. No system is completely risk-free. Users must protect their sign-in credentials, device access, downloaded job packages, and locally saved files.
Children and changes
Jobstead is a workplace service and is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when material revisions are published.
Contact
Use the developer support contact shown in the Jobstead Google Play or Apple App Store listing. Employees may also contact their company owner or administrator about company-controlled data and access.
